That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, maybe be able to comprehend with all the Saints what is the width and length and depth and height – To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17–19
That Christ made dwell in your hearts through faith.... Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will down into God's love and keep you strong.
The difference between a house and a home is a house is a structure, while home is where one truly lives. Where life happens. Where a young man brings his bride and she adds her special touch of love and magic happens. Where Christmas trees are erected and families gather around the fire. Where memories are made. Where love resides.
Ephesians 3 gives us a beautiful picture of a person who invites Christ into his heart (home) and places his trust in Him. Christ makes it into a home, His home, where He adds His special loving touch. The love of Christ surpasses all other love and is beyond our ability to fully know it or exhaust it.
Psalm one tells us that one whose delight is in the Lord will be one like a tree planted by the rivers of water. His roots will go down into the love of God and his leaf shall never wither and whatever he does shall prosper.
The love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure... the love of God is greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell; it goes beyond the highest star and reaches to the lowest hell; the guilty pair, bow down with care, God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled and pardoned from his sin.
Heavenly Father thank you for Your wonderful love, thank you that when we are grounded in Your love we shall not wither and dry up but shall always prosper and bring forth fruit. O that all would know Your love personally. So many homes are not as pictured above. So many hearts are not your home. Oh that all would repent and come to Jesus and invite Him into their hearts (homes) and know the depths and width and height of Your love. In Jesus name. AMEN
