Word for the day

1/10/25

Why do you stand far off, O Lord? Why do you hide in times of trouble? Psalm 10:1

I understand during times when evil seems to prevail and even go unchecked, it's easy to think that God has removed Himself from the situation and is perhaps hiding.

To think such thoughts is to totally misunderstand God. Where can we go to flee from the presence of God? If we ascend into heaven, He is there, if we go to the depths of hell, behold He is there. If we take the wings of morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there His hand shall lead us and His right hand hold us. Indeed, the darkness shall never hide us from God. For God, the night shines as the day. Night and day are both alike to Him.

When we were in our mother's womb being fearfully and wonderfully made, God was with us.

So dear one take heart today. God is not far from you. He is so near that He knows your every thought. Every hidden secret thing in your life, He knows. As frightening as that is for us, God saved us by His grace when we believed. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.

Though evil may prevail in this world, God will never abandon us. In Christ Jesus we are more than conquerors. Truly let us go forth and do the good things He planned for us long ago. Let's choose not to see things as the writer of Psalm 10 did. Lets choose today to see God, to feel God, to know of His very real presence in our lives today. What have we to fear? Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world.

Heavenly Father thank you so much that you are always with us. There's not a place we can go that you are not there. You resided within Your children. You give us hope and strength. You're very presence enables us to go forth and do the good things you have planned for us so long ago. Help us today to live as Your children. To be more than conquerors through Christ Jesus! AMEN AMEN
